Book: When Friendship Followed Me Home

Author: Paul Griffin

This book is about the struggles of a foster boy, Ben, and his journey through childhood. It starts with him finding a stray dog in an alleyway, his new loyal best friends, and his adoptive mother passing away. Now meeting and losing friends, Ben learns that small acts of kindness can go a long way.

I chose it for my quilt patch because it was an awesome realistic fiction book. It was sad and funny at the same time. With all the tragedies in it, Ben is able to stay strong, with his best friend at his side.

On my patch you can see a picture of the main character, Ben Coffin, and his dog Flips in his hoodie. Ben likes reading so he is holding a pile of books. I also incorporated a frayed heart to show the sadness and love in the book.

I recommend you read this book if you like realistic fiction and sad stories. This book has some very real and scary truths in it, so I would not recommend it if you are very sensitive to books. But it is very heartwarming and an excellent book.
